  • Furrion Electric Fireplace Crystals Only Light Up In One Corner.
  • I have contacted Furrion and it sounds like the LED light may be faulty. There is not a replacement light strip for the unit. The unit has to be replaced. I recommend the Furrion RV Electric Fireplace with Crystals - 30" Wide - Recessed Mount - Black Item # FF30SC15ABL if the unit has surpassed it's warranty.

  • Utility Trailer Brake Lights Not Working
  • We should be able to easily sort out the issue with your non-functioning brake lights. As a primer, I posted a link to a trailer wiring FAQ article. Take a look at that before we start. First, we need to determine if the issue is on the tow vehicle side or trailer side. Unplug the trailer from the vehicle and on the vehicle connector use a multimeter to measure for 12 volts on the brake light pin. If you don't have a multimeter you may want to order the Performance Tools # PT89ZR . From...

  • New Furrion Electric Fireplace Shows 88 Error Code
  • The 88 error on the Furrion RV Electric Fireplace with Logs - 30" Wide - Recessed Mount - Black Item # F30SW15ABL, means the manual reset overheat protection has triggered. Double check to make sure the air inlets and outlets are not blocked. It appears like you have but I would double check them again. You may have to slide the unit out of the wall and make sure the vent located on the top of the containment box is not too close to anything that would limit airflow.

  • My EZ Latch Coupler will not Release what Should I Look for
  • Generally the Demco A-Frame Trailer Coupler w/ Jack Hole part # DM14793-81 is very easy to release. There is a lock/pin hole located just under the latch that may have a pin in it preventing it from opening. I have linked a photo showing exactly where the hole is on your coupler.

  • Troubleshooting my Lippert Stabilzer Jack Not Working Motor Runs Stabilizers Don't Move
  • On your Lippert Components High-Speed Power Stabilizer Jack part # LC298707 I would look at the shear pin that is at the shaft of the motor. If it was put to too high of a pressure it likely sheared to prevent damage. The drive screw attaches to the motor and runs though the ends of the arms to allow operation. Those connections are very solid so it is very unlikely that is where the problem lies. Your motor is also running as you said so it has to be between those two points.

  • How To Test That House Battery On Forest River RV is Getting Charged By Vehicle Battery/Alternator
  • I would be happy to walk you through how to check that the house battery in your 2013 Forest River RV built on the 2013 Chev 4500 chassis is being charged. The most cost effective way is just using a multimeter # PT29ZR set to the volt setting and testing your house battery. A fully charged battery will be 12.6+ volts, and and a battery at 50% will be around 12.06-12.1v. If you have a lead acid house battery you do not want to go below 50% or you can severely shorten the life span of the...

  • Venture Landing Gear is Blowing Fuses
  • So the reason landing gear is blowing fuses is because of an overdraw on the circuit. This can often happen with a bad gearbox causing the motor to work too hard, so you did the right thing in replacing it with the # LC276602. The wiring is the next main culprit, and though you said you checked that, just going over it again - especially your grounds - and making sure they are very solid is something I recommend doing, just to be safe. The next possible issue is that your battery is not...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Brakes Not Working On 2017 Forest River Wolf Pup 16BHS
  • I would start with doing a few troubleshooting steps to see exactly what the issue is, and where you are losing power. In the junction box on your 2017 Forest River Wolf Pup 16BHS there should be a blue wire that is the brake output wire that is what sends power to the brakes for them to apply. When you apply the brakes using the manual override have a friend test this wire with a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to see if power is making its way there. If you have power then keep applying...

  • Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Troubleshooting Trailer Connected When Not Connected
  • The Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885 thinks that a trailer is connected. If the P2 is hard wired into the vehicle you will want to break the connection of the blue wire leaving the brake controller. If the light changes to n.c. then you know that there is something wrong in the wiring on the vehicle. If the light stays on .c. with the blue wire disconnected then the brake controller is defective and needs replaced. To find the damaged wiring in the brake line blue...

  • Trailer Lights Not Working On Left Side of Trailer When Connected to 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport
  • It sounds to me as if you have a ground problem too. You have done all of the testing and it points to ground so I think you most likely have a light mounting bracket that is not making ground to the trailer frame. If the brackets for your tail lights are bolted to the frame, take them loose and clean all of the rust and road debris out. Make sure when you bolt them back down that they are contacting bare metal on both the frame and the light bracket and that they are tight. If your brackets...

  • No Function on any Right Side Lights on Trailer Behind 2010 Subaru Forester
  • I have found the best way to find a bug in an electrical system is by process of elimination. Eliminating possible sources will eventually lead to the right spot. First thing I would do, is check the 4-Way connector on your Subaru Forester. Using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 or a 4-Way tester like part # F5CT or part # I26. The white wire is ground, the yellow wire is left turn and brake, the green wire is right turn and brake, and the brown wire is taillights. Chances are, the...

  • Troubleshooting Locking Knob of Swagman Bike Rack Where Core Comes Out
  • If the lock core wants to come out of the knob then that would indicate that the knob is broken on your Swagman bike rack or that the screw on the back side of the knob has comes loose. Make sure that screw isn't missing or loose. For a replacement knob the part # P1040 would be the correct part number.

  • Running Light Circuit Not Working on 4- to 7-Way Adapter # 37185
  • On the Hopkins 4- to 7-Way adapter # 37185 the brown wire is the running light circuit. There could be a break or a problem with the connection on that brown wire somewhere between its 4-Way and the back of the 7-Way. Also make sure that the white ground wire on the adapter is attached to a clean and corrosion free bare metal surface. This wire must have a good connection or you could run into problems with some of the lights. A weak ground could be the result of this issue since the running...

  • Reverse Light Circuit on 2001 Ford F-150 7-Way Not Working to Power Hopkins Backup Camera
  • If your reverse light circuit is not functioning on your 2001 Ford F-150 then it could be a blown or missing fuse in the tow package wiring. Under the hood in the power distribution box, check the fuse in location 6 and the relay in location 203. If either is blown or missing then it will need to be replaced. The other option is to run the wire associated with the center pin on the factory 7-Way to a reverse light wire behind one of the reverse lights and tap into it using a quick splice...

  • Electric Over Hydraulic Trailer Brakes Not Working with a 2016 Ram 5500
  • It sounds like the 7-Way connectors are not pinned out in a standard configuration. I have included a picture that shows the vehicle side functions of a 7-Way trailer connector. Use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 to determine the functions of your 7-Way and then change the pin out on your 7-Way accordingly. Electric over hydraulic trailer brakes will only work with certain brake controllers. If your 2016 Ram 5500 has the factory brake controller then make sure it is set to the electric...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Lights that Just Stopped Working on 2013 Honda Pilot with Tow Ready Harness
  • First thing to do is check the fuse you installed in the fuse panel of your 2013 Honda Pilot that came with the # 118265. There is a good chance this fuse blew or the relays you installed went bad. But most likely the problem is the fuse. I attached a picture of where the fuse would be installed.

  • Determining if Weight Distribution System is Being Overloaded
  • I'm a bit confused by the description of your set up. You mention that the Eaz-Lift set up is rated at 14000 towing/1400 tongue weight, but then go on to say the bars are rated at 600 lbs. If your spring bars are rated at a maximum of 600 lbs, it means that the tongue weight of the trailer plus the weight of anything stowed behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle cannot exceed the rating of the spring bars. It's vitally important that you're aware of the total tongue weight of your set-up....

  • Troubleshooting no Running Lights with the Hopkins 7-way to 4-way Adapter part # HM47200
  • The Hopkins Endurance Quick-Install Trailer Connector Adapter # HM47200 that you referenced should work well without any modifications. It sounds like the running light issue you are seeing is on the 4-way of his F150. Use a circuit tester like our part # 3808 to test the pin with the brown wire coming out of it for voltage when the head lights or running lights of his vehicle are on. If there is no voltage there then the problem is on the vehicle side of the wiring. Trace the circuit...

  • Troubleshooting 1990 GMC 1500 that Blows Fuses w Trailer when Running Lights/Brake Lights Applied
  • Sounds like your trailer lights are drawing too much amperage for your vehicle wiring and that is why the fuse is blowing. When your running lights and brake lights are applied the wiring of your trailer is drawing the most it will draw. The easiest way to fix this problem is to replace the incandescent trailer lights on your trailer with LEDs. LEDs draw considerably less than incandescent bulbs so the fuse should stop blowing. I attached a page that has all of our LED trailer lights for...
